Tempted to go for that one too but weary of what they have on their page though "There have been customer reports of "E" series Panasonic P2 cards not being compatible with the ExpressCard to Cardbus Adapter". Although on that topic page you posted jason mentions that it does work with E series cards...

I saw that too. But between Jason's (and others) success with E series, and the possibility that info may be dated, I thought it would be a good option.
But then I also noticed they've had problems with the PC I'd use, an HP Pavilion dv6000.

So now I'm looking at the Rosewill, ($30 US) mentioned by Barry Green in Jason's thread.
It's disadvantage- PC only. So maybe I'll forget the Mac (my wife's) and 2 platforms and go with the Rosewill.

I like the Rosewill, but I just ran into incompatibility with 64GB "E" cards today. I had no probs transferring 4GB and 16GB "R" cards, but the computer wouldn't recognize the 64GB "E" cards at all. I actually had to resort to using the USB port on the HVX to transfer the 64GB cards.

If someone figures out a solution to this, I'm all ears. It's thrown a little rain on the Rosewill parade.

I'm ordering this one:

based on this:
http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?176057-P2-offload-Lenovo-S10-with-addonics-adapter

I'd be using it with either/both PC and Mac also, though I'm not sure about Snow Leopard.
Their site says: Compatible with Windows 98/ME, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, Mac OS X 10.4.x with no drivers necessary.

Yes, but not for P2 cards on OSX. They specifically exclude P2. It'll work with a modem card or something like that, but not a P2 card. Works on Windows (at least for "R" cards) but not on OSX.

I guess it's worth 30 bucks to find out- if not, it's a return.
If the card's not recognized, is there a message, or just nothing?
Thanks!

On mine, it ignores the presence of the card (i.e., normally a card insertion will cause the card to show up in the Explorer window, and an autoplay dialog comes up asking "what do you want to do?" With the 64GB "E" card, nothing happens.)

It is recognizing something, as the green-arrow eject utility identifies that there is a "P2 SCSI" device attached, but ... all you can do is eject it.

Barry-
Obvious suggestion but have you tried booting it up with the 64 E Series card and adapter in the slot? I recently borrowed some 16 GB E-Series cards and in order to offload them using the adapter I had to restart with the card in. When it comes back up it is listed as a drive and is accessible. I can hot swap my R series cards all day but the E series needed rebooting. Just a thought.

This is the only way I've gotten my 32GB E-series to work with my PCI express->PCMIA adapter on windows 7. Just thought I would back up the restarting point. Hope it works for the OP!

When you do reboot you will need to open explorer to see the drive. So when you don't see the prompt window pop up asking what you want to do with it don't forget to check in explorer. Addonics went above and beyond to get my adapter working (driver issues) and the workflow on location and in the studio is so much smoother than using the camera and USB.

Thanks for the help guys, I ended up getting the adapter from the first link I posted (as I needed one in a hurry and that one had the shortest delivery time). Will let yous know how well it works.
If it doesn't then most likely going to go for the Rosewill one (although really want to find out if it works with the E series 32 gig cards)

Hmmm... I got the Rosewill adapter, installed the P2 drivers on an HP DV6500 laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium), but it doesn't see the P2 cards, no Explorer.
I get the "ding dong" when the adapter goes in, and the adapter's green light lights up, but no P2.

Tried Restarting with the P2 and adapter in, still nothing.
E- series 16 and 32GB cards... nothing.

Am I missing something? Is it an E-series thing?

Go to the Addonics site, they describe the process for what you have to do to install the driver. I had the same issue with my Rosewill, and the Addonics instructions totally worked.

It sounds similar to what I went through. It was a driver issue. I didn't see exactly what he did but it seemed he manually connected the driver file. As if the file was downloaded but wasn't being found automatically. He didn't add anything to my computer (seemingly) but showed the computer where the file was. Since then it has been smooth sailing. Good luck

Interesting. Next time I have one of the cards I'll have to try that. Thanks for the suggestion!
Barry- Did you ever get the chance to test out the 64GB E- Series card and inserting them before booting up?

Do you get any answer about it ?

Do you think it will do the same with R or A series ?

No answer, and I don't know whether it would happen with the "R" or "A" series. Seems to handle 4GB to 16GB "R" and "E" series just fine, but it didn't like the large "E" cards.
