Ok I tried Edius trial but it only reads MXF and captures @ 1080 modes - no 720 modes

What else is available on the PC for 720 modes?

Being a Premiere Pro 2 user, I like Cineform Aspect HD. www.cineform.com
There is a thread in this area that you can read and I don't see anyone unhappy with it.

I've also got AVID Xpress Pro HD, but haven't taken the time to figure out how to use it.

How many sales is Panasonic losing because of this issue in Europe (and the rest of PAL world)??
they made a car with wheeldimensions that no tireproducer supports. crazy.

Moses,

CineForm Aspect HD 4.1 supports all the HVX modes for both 50 and 60 Hz worlds. Aspect HD is designed for Premiere Pro 1.5.1 and 2.0. There is also Connect HD 3.0 which adds HVX support to Video-for-Windows applications like Sony Vegas. The thread BigMike mentioned is here : http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=57522
