PC + Media Composer + HD

[im.thatoneguy]

I've heard rumors that at launch Media Composer (software only) won't support HD on the PC. The idea seems pretty rediculous to me, but I've heard it from enough people to warrant looking into it.

Does anybody know for sure? If it doesn't at launch how soon thereafter will they patch it?

I find it highly unlikely. Avid has played the marketing game before (Support for HDV with fine print saying in a future release) but I don't see anything like that in the material for MC. Plus since Xpress Pro already supports native DVCPro HD and some flavors of HDV I just can't imagine that MC wouldn't.
