PC laptop to PowerMac FCP?

Just got my camera two days ago. I am trying to copy the P2 filse to PC laptop and network to a PowerMac FCP 5.0.
I have also copied the file from the laptop to the Mac, but both ways give an error statement when I import into FCP. I've copied the files (Contents and lastclip.txt) into a folder I named P2. In FCP, IMPORT PANA P2, and I select the folder P2. I see all the thumbnails, but when I click import I get the error: P2 Clips failed to import. Probable incomplete or corrupted clips.
any suggestions?
 
Can't do it on 5.0. You need to update to 5.0.4.

I think 5.0 will import standard-def clips but not high-def. You need 5.0.4 to import high-def clips.
