I have a GH2 and I'm thinking about an AF100. I have a documentary in development and have noticed that PBS's Technical Operating Specifications say:
• Video that is acquired in high definition (HD) and submitted in Sony HDCAM video format.
• Video that is acquired in standard definition (SD) and upconverted to Sony HDCAM video format for submission."
"Beginning on March 1, 2012 PBS will accept only:
• Video that is acquired in high definition (HD) and submitted in Sony HDCAM video format.
• Video that is acquired in standard definition (SD) and upconverted to Sony HDCAM video format for submission."
Further:
"2.1.2.1 HD program submissions are defined as those programs which have been acquired by
cameras which have three sensor chips, each at least a 1/2” diagonal in size with a minimum frame size of 1280 x 720 and have been edited minimally as 3:1:1 -8 bit video (HDCAM resolution)."I was considering shooting on AF100 and GH2's. Does anyone here know if there is anyway around this 3 chip requirement? You can read the TOS here:
