SHORT: Passport - short film shot with DVX100B

Shot this with my DVX100B and edited in Sony Vegas Pro 8. Thought I'd go for a nostalgic feel so used black and white (vegas) and old cine film sequence (shot on standard 8mm around 20 years ago!). I woke up on Saturday morning and decided that rather than think about making a film I should just make one!! I thought of the idea quickly and I don't think it's a very strong story - I would like to spend more time writing. However, the point was to just do something! Does anyone else suffer from endless deliberation about what to film and end not not filming anything? Anyway, here's the link...

Yeah, but I did like the premise of having an object spark a recollection, which maybe could have been juxtaposed with his current "note abusive wife". Perhaps a rewrite might be worthwhile ? (since the premise is pretty good).

That wife sure enjoys making her hubby dance like a Russian bear, though, looking for passports like she's gonna beat him if he doesn't find it. She probably had it all along (chuckling at her mastery over him).

You broke thru that mofo with this vid ! :-)

How long... how are you? Since reduser changed their policy, we're not able to see you around anymore! :)

I concur your comments. The story can add something more in order to not come up as 'Deus Ex Machina' in the end. Beyond such harsh note doesn't fit it. I'm afraid not even a 'russian bear' can save it! LOL :-) The nostalgic idea is cinematic enough though. The score can be redesigned too. Granted you have a good premise, why not to go ahead with a rewrite? ;-)

Hey Emanuel, nice to see you too! Yeah, I just stopped in while I was prepping a new project, but it just ain't the same here. I miss the old dvx&reduser days when the sites were all together, hehe:) One big party. I'm doing alright, lots of life changes.

cheers, mate

Ps - So it looks like two votes for a rewrite. :-)

Thanks for the comments

A rewrite could indeed be the way forward! Thanks for taking an interest. I hope to find the time to write more and make a short film once a month! Ha! We'll see about that. Whatever, I did this for the fun of doing it - and I'm encouraged that it might be at least a brief conversation piece!

Cheers.
