Hi guys, I really don’t know where to start, this was my first real movie making and it started out as you know a technical short , more like a test to your vision and equipments , but it ended up in around 30 minutes long movie ,
This is the problem when you are a writer you just can't do simple works ,
I had so many limitations I mean when you write something you are just held by how much ink you got , but when it comes to holding a cam and shoot something , editing , composite and sounds, it is another story ,
One of the main obstacles I faced and for sure every one of you did was in how to break the media
When you write something you break your sense of reality into that media by just keep on writing the words .
I remember when I shot the first scene I was like what am I doing , those are my friends, this is my neighborhood , my town, how am I going to set my mind into the scene ,
believe me guys that was the toughest thing I faced .
the other problem was that I was technically weak and working alone
I used Canon 60D with the cheapest lenses
the 50 mm 1.8 mk2 and 18-55 mm without the IS ,
for sound Ntg2 rode with marantz 660 and rode blimp
I was doing everything with zero experience, it was tough on me specially the sounds and animations .
I searched the net and found a software , Animestudio pro 5 read some tutorials and we did around 8 minutes animations
One of my friends who is good with Photoshop did the characters modeling and BGs
The animation was a beautiful experience and it served the idea very well ,
Also one of the challenges I faced was the time , we were shooting day scenes in winter !
That was a big mistake , don’t you ever do that, otherwise the scenes will take many days to shoot and lots of color correction will involved in post (the sun will not give you time to even think ) .
In my country , day scenes in summer , night scenes in winter , I learned my lesson J
The main reason I did the trailer is to check with you guys the sound and the brightness
I think I set the sound gain at -6db in premier cs5 ,
And I don’t know about the brightness since it differs from one TV to another
so I really don’t know how to set the standard, guess I need a help on this J
