"PASS" Help!!!

Hi Jan,
Help!!!!
I just picked up my "NEW" HPX500 from HB Communications in CT.
I went to register the camera and it says The SN# is registered with some one else.
then theres a message that says to contact us???

could you give me a phone number to the "PASS" office.
trust me i've been on th phone for 3 hrs now trying to "Contact" them....lol...:(

PS.....the box was unopend.

ok found a number for the "PASS" department Monday...."Mike"
gave them all the info.
have not heard from them....so i called yesterday and left a message.
I called today @ 11:30 and got hold of "Mike" and he said he would look into it and get back to me.

thats it for now folks......i'll let you know what happens.
 
What was the issue, paperwork/human error.
something sinister or just a "cockup".

Well......it seems that someone had leased this HPX500 from Panasonic.
and before he recived the camera, he got all the paper work for the camera with the serial number and went ahead and registered it with the PASS system....... he then found out that he could not go through with the deal.

so.....the camera was locked out of the PASS program.

but all is well now.....thanks...:dankk2:
 
Technically, You purchased a secondhand unit then ?
interesting senario, wonder what would have happened if the situation was reversed...would the dealer / pana have forgiven you ?.
