Ok I have a question about particles, I am trying to create an effect that look like these ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pre0Erl1DnA)...the biggest problem I am having is that all my particles come out as squares instead of circles. And also I cant figure out how to make them varying sizes.

Thats the message I get whenI click on that link. I used trapcode for a particle thing that was soccerballs. Trapcodes particular works great for using pics or shapes.

Well, it actually sounds like you're looking for the "cc particle world" effect. I'm sure you already know about this guy but this specific tutorial has a lot of the stuff you're looking for.

I really wanted to do this tutorial, but sadly I don't have that effect (for whatever reason). I've found that I don't have random effects in AE. Is there any way I can recover these effects without reinstalling the entire program?
