Part 2 of the HD100 on the Set of 24

I see that it's on there, but like he said it looks like the 2nd part is for subscribers only. bummer.

There are a few errors in this report. However this one is way off!

""The XL H1 offers 1080i recording or else 24p at 720 ""

WTF, The H1 is 1080i/p 24. Not 720P for god sakes.

"""""We did manage to get footage out of the Canon and upload it to the D5 no problem. And it was this footage that we viewed at Level 3 post, where it made an amazing comparison against the 35mm dailies. The imagery was almost identical except for that nagging problem of almost infinite DOF.""""""

Well this is my findings as well, the XLH1 looks like 35mm telecine to HD D5 masters if shot very well under controlled settings.

However WTF did they shoot it 30P for, hellooooooooo---- why not do it 24P and if it fails, it fails.... Very confused about the paragraph. It talks about if you need to have 24P, you can throw enough money at the H1 material and get it converted. WELL IT SHOOTS 24P, I AM HOLDING IT IN MY LAP NEXT TO MY HD100. Why is it Scott Billups can film 24P mode of the H1 and do a film out and view it in front of 20+ industry people at FotoKem and have a totally the opposite reaction. Hmmmmmm! Caution..Hmmmmm The H1 is good enough for the Big screen 35mm film out, but not for prime-time tube shows. Hmmmmmm! That don't make sense...

They did after all pass on Genesis for the show ( 24 ) cause it lacked exact latitude to 35mm film under testing. However Genius was good enough for Warner Brothers to use it on a 200+ million dollar movie from Singer. Geez, good enough for the big boys, but not TV. Now that's very confusing.... I've shot Genius, and I would take that camera any day.
