Paralinx Arrow with the 7Q

Anyone use a Paralinx Arrow with the 7Q or something similar, but on a professional level (non-DIY)? I have shoot where it would be nice to have remote monitoring for the client.

How would you rig it up to the 7Q?

We make a bracket to hold a pair of Teradeck Bolt receivers on the back of the Odyssey7Q, and there are a number of 3rd party solutions available as well. A good basic one is the Director's Monitor rig from Wooden Camera. Perhaps the most elegantly engineered model is the solution from Solid Camera.

Hi Gene,
I had an arrow, but recently upgraded to a Bolt. The arrow works great and has range similar to the bolt. Minimal delay and is an excellent unit for the price. As the components are lightweight, velcro works pretty well as a short term fix. A V-lock battery with velcro even better. Or a small short articulating arm out of the odyssey's 1/4 thread on the side to hold the arrow is another option, helps to keeps the receiver aerial separate also. A plate with mounting points like Mitch mentioned does make life easier as a long term solution. Powering the receiver and 7Q form the one battery also simplifies things. Paralinx make convertor cables for this.
The week point to the arrow/7Q though is the mini HDMI connector, I went through a few cables- from just getting bent. I found some right angle cables which sat much more snuggly in between along the bottom of the 7Q. Make sure you have a spare.
Solid camera also make a good adaptable rear plate mounting solution.

Tim.

To help protect the HDMI connector, I would suggest mounting the Odyssey7Q upside down and let the auto-flip function correct the image. For this usage the port might be better off up top than down below.
