Parabolic Mic Help

A few years ago, at a local attraction they set up an interesting thing - a pair of huge ex-telecoms dishes, pointing at each other, across a small lake, and at the focal point of each one was a little platform so you could put your ear or mouth up to the LNB mounting position. They were probably 3.5 to 4m in diameter, and you could have a conversation with somebody on the other side of the water - still very speech band, rather low fi - but quite amazing.

They had something similar at the EXPLORATORIUM in San Francisco. Not as great a distance but shooting across a crowded noisy environment. You could whisper and be heard.

I really appreciate all of your guy's input it is really helpful. I was going to order the mic above Richard suggested then I ran across this one HERE. It seems to be practical for this application.
