HPX250: PAP filter 1 and low light events

Just finished shooting an event at a hotel with low light. Basic dinner and speeches. Decided to try out the PAP1 filter. I must say it worked very well. Even added some gain 3db and 6db. There was no direct light on the speaker and yes the footage is dark but I think it can be pushed with the CC. About halfway through someone turned on the overhead flourescent lights and then everything brightened up. Never saw any PAP1 noise or microjelly. Of course there was not a lot of movement in the shot. Anyone else tried out the PAP1 filter with different results?

I have yet to see any of the negative side effects of the PAP1 filter. It should crop up in lower light and something with fine detail that it can mistake as noise if the camera is moving. I just haven't hit the right combination yet, I guess.

I guess that's the scary thing about it. You just don't know when it will crop up and if it happens during a live event ... then it's too late. If you're shooting doc or commercial, you have time to catch it and do take 2. I didn't know if Panasonic did any improvements to the PAP1 filter since the HPX370.

It's just so nice getting that extra stop when you need it.
