Panning in post with FCP

I am zooming in on a video slip, then putting a pan on it in post production. I need to put a curve on the pan so that it looks like it is slowing down rather than just stopping abruptly. Can this be done in FCP? Can someone let me know how?

Use the ease keyframes.

Did you try right clicking a key frame and choosing 'smooth' instead of corner? I forget if it works on 'scale' alone or on 'center' as well.
