Panasonic's new version of HPX300

Panasonic will publicly announce a new camera the HPX370. It is supposed to be better in low light. Don't know if this is out and about yet just thought you should know in case you are looking to get one such as me.

Why would they do this it seems more likely that replacement for the 500 will be on the cards, so a HPX600/601 may be on the cards.

I predict 1/2" or 2/3" cmos with AVCintra 100 so it goes head to head with the sony 350!

First post.....
A stranger entered the room with fantastic news!

I never post just read. I had a feeling at least one person would right this.

It will have a new 1/3" 2.2m HD 3Mos progressive image sensor. Sensitivity F10 and 56db S/N

AVC Intra 10bit 4.2.2 intra frame compression plus DVCProHD and much more other details that I can't go into to much. But my favorite is User selectable setting for recording one clip instead of multiple clips everytime you hit record.

If you go to this--> https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/sales_o/02products/products/ag-hmx100/AG-HMX100_pre_PE.pdf

On the second page- top left corner there is a reference to the HPX370 series along with the HPX300.

Either your eyes are playing tricks on you or someone quickly reverted back to an older .pdf because it now sez 300 series (and 170 series) cameras.

And thanks for the news, photojournalist. I think of lot of people were wondering what's up considering the 300's pricing, giveaways and rebate. Speaking of which, did you hear what price to expect on a 370?

I just checked again. It's in white font directly below HPX300.

Jim

Yep, I saw it, its there. Place your mouse just below the picture of the HPX300 and you will be able to select the invisible text. It should then become a little more visible. I was able to make out "AG-HPX370 Series".

Aha, thanks. Might be a browser setting or cache viewing or something. I can see there is a text box there but the text is never visible. But a right click on it provides for "contextual web search for AG-HPX370 series."

Maybe I'm not following you, but most of that is already there actually -- AVC Intra 100, DVCPro HD, 2.2 MP are on the 300. But a new and improved sensor with truly better sensitivity and less noise would solve a huge issue though. I guess 1/2" was too much to hope for. As hard as I try I cannot find S/N specs for the 300 anywhere. Do any of you have them, and can an equivalent for the F10 figure be found?
The 300 brochure lists sensitivity as "0.8 lx (F1.6 , Gain 24dB , Shutter Speed 1/30 sec.)"

And photojournalist, is your last sentence there describing single frame recording for timelapse or animation?
