Anyone read the documentation and the procedure to invoke and activate 1080 50/ 60p in an AF100?

It took Panasonic 3 months to deliver me a plastic envelope containing a folded black plastic bag that contained a label (printed on a label maker) with a Key Code. All this came in a brown box 6 x 4 x 2 inch box that also had a CD with a pdf file and another piece of paper advising one reads the instructions.

Panasonic....seriously now. Tell me this was an elaborate Japanese joke. rogar-Shock(DBG):

Let s not even get into the cost of this.

If you have ever participated in a Panny rebate program, you will realize this is type of thing is SOP. How do you like their pro website? For a company that build some great cams and has been a true innovator, their marketing, IT and publications are really bush league.

Yup, my story was the same -- waited three months for that little box'o'joy. I've gotten extra value out of it by using it as a prop at school (I teach computer and media classes) where I make an elaborate show of displaying and opening each of the many layers of packaging until we get to ... the little paper label. I'm using this as an example of how NOT to develop and deliver software! Maybe the next generation will "get it" as a result.

Well..you do download the actual firmware.... but the next stage of activating it is where it gets so weird.
