For sale is a used Panasonic Varicam AJ-HDC27HP. This is the 2nd generation Varicam and greatly improved over the already good original (see more infos below). It's an amazing high end cinema camera. Some movies shot with it were Borat the Movie, Arrested Development, Frozen River, Starship Troopers 2. Watch Frozen River (great film too) which has great colours, natural skin tones and a gritty film like feel!
The camera outputs high quality 10bit 4:2:2 720p images over HD-SDI with superior colour and skin tones. Use it with a Atomos, Convergent Design Nanoflash or Odyssey, AJA Ki Pro Mini and more.
HDC27H improvements over the HDC27F include (but are not limited to):
An updated optical block results in greater sensitivity in the blue channel, thus reducing overall noise.
12-bit DSPs instead of 10-bit in the Model F, which decreases noise and increases dynamic range
Dark compression mode - allocates more bits to dark areas of frame – especially good for Film Rec shoots where there is a lot of detail down there (also available in latest Model F upgrade, but not really useful in F since the setting would reset at each power down).
The rear HD-SDI connector is a clean feed (no characters).
It is now possible to output frame-lines from the side HD-SDI connector.
Lens flare settings are now saved as part of the lens files.
White shading info can now be saved to an SD card for later recall.
New option to delay audio to maintain sync at 24fps.
Slightly less power consumption of the Model H vs. the F (36W vs. 39W).
Automatic pixel compensation on black balance.
Manufactured with lead-free solder.
Refined cooling system.

Condition:
-Normal wear for a camera of this age. Wear appears where you would expect it (handle, body, bottom etc.). One of the better looking units out there!

-Internal battery for keeping time/date working!
-Viewfinder has a scratch on lens element (see photo). This does NOT show up in recording obviously and is also not visible when looking through it. It's a non issue but need to point it out anyways.

Still plenty of life left, these are low hours for a high end pro camera!
