Panasonic updates firmware for G2 and 14-140mm lens

i was disappointed that the 3D lens only shot stills! i don't know much about the 3D stuff but i thought the demand for it would be for video.

3D for stills seems a little like putting a HD video lens on a portable cassette player, i'm probably wrong as i'm sure there are people who will do some crazy stuff with 3D stills photography :smile: and i'm looking forward to seeing the results, plus the 3D lens isn't that costly so hey fair doos!

not tried the firmware for the kit lens but i've been wondering if its possible to update the 14-140 firmware from a hacked GH1 body?

The hacked firmware is almost the same as the original firmware but for the injected values. Even the functions that were added should not interfere with the ability to do a lens upgrade IMO.

its always been something i wondered about since i ran the hack.

is it possible that panasonic would rather write R.I.P above the GH1(3)? i'm not clued up on marketing and the tech side but from what i read they didn't like the hack.
