Panasonic tape cleaner - blue lines

So I just bought a panasonic professional tape cleaner for my DVX. My buddy was using the camera a month ago and he said the dirty head warning came on while shooting. The camera has around 350hrs on it and 90% of the tapes that have gone through it are the PQ kind. So I called a professional prosumer camera service shop and told them I wanted to have the camera taken in to be professionaly cleaned. They told me to save my money and buy Panasonic's tape cleaner.

So I bought a tape, put it in, hit play for 10 seconds and what happens? Blue lines. So I try again, blue screen only. Greeaatt...So do these tapes do more harm then good? I should have never ran the !#$^@^ thing through. Any advice on what to do other than send it in?

The first thing I would do is speak in person to the gentleman at the shop. Have your DVX and the cleaning tape. Remind him of what he recommended. If he suggests service, I would get a second opinion.
