Great site, just got my camera today. Ordered 100A, opened the box, the manual says DVX100p. I know the p is North America, where's the A? As I'm reading the manual it has listed the old shutter speeds, not the newer speeds on the 100A. The box is printed 100A. Without firing up the camera is there a way I can tell if I have the 100 or 100A? Is there a 100A manual? Or is a company trying to pull a fast one on me? Thanks.

Whoa! where'd you get the camera? I seriously doubt that Panasonic put the wrong manual in the box since the 100 has been out of production since the beginning of this year. Did you get the camera from a reputable dealer? Definatly make sure that you have a 100a and not a 100. It is more likely that the dealer had leftover 100's and decided to get a little extra cash and sell it is a 100a. Stuff like this seams to happen with expensive cameras like this. Don't mean to freak you out, but you need to make sure that it is also not a grey market camera, and that it is not used. As far as the grey market camera goes, you can call panasonic and give them the serial number. As far as it being used, you can check the camera hours in the menu. Then again it could all be one big mistake.

just look at the camera, if its dark grey its an A, if its light grey its an old 100.. also there is a metal lip around the Scene dial on 100A's

B&L or B&H. I'm assuming that you meant B&H as I have never heard of the other, and they are a reputable dealer.

The lettering around the audio switches inside the LCD is white on the 100A, too.
