Panasonic PCD10

Has anybody here have or had a demo with the PCD 10 5 slot card reader?

I'm thinking that this might be a good addition to my kit, but would love to hear some feedback from some one who has actually used the thing.:dankk2:

We have about 20 of them and they work very good. You can load up to 5 cards at the same time, which is nice if you use a SPX-900 camera with room for 5 cards. Each card you put in shows up as a separate drive-letter in XP.

If you want to edit directly from the P2-card and use a PC ( not a laptop), get one of these. Even for a laptop, it's becoming more and more difficult to find one with a PCMCIA adapter, let alone two, so it might be a good solution.

Connection is over USB2.0, so transfer speed is maxed at around 30 MB/s, which is not bad. However, Panasonic has announced a newer version( PCD20 I think), with a firewire400 and firewire800 interface.

Maybe I have the nomenclature wrong but I am thinking of the newer version of the 5 slot reader released in august with USB and Firewire interface,

I'm working in the mac world but I figure a 5 slot reader would be cool since it would allow me to connect to my Mac book and copy P2 volumes to 2 different drives simultaneously with P2 genie. In some circumstances it would save copying cards to a P2 store and then making a copy of the P2 store volumes to a hard drive.
