GH4 Panasonic Leica 42.5 Lens Hood RIDICULOUSNESS

Well, this is the single greatest native m4/3 lens I have ever owned, but I am completely peeved about the lens hood.

Unfortunately, the hood no longer tightens onto the lens and I can't fix it. It has just worn out over repeated usage and is no longer in warranty.

So I was able to contact Panasonic and they said they can't fix the item, I need to order another one. For TWO HUNDRED FIFTY dollars.

After shipping, TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS for a lens hood!?!?! You have got to be kidding me. And I can't find any other generic version that will work. UGH!!!!!

Does anyone have any alternative suggestions to this absolute nonsense?

And I thought Olympus was bad.

Doesn't it have threads? Plenty of cheap screw on hoods.

that nothing. Try this hood. i had to paid that much after i accidentally drop the hood down and cracked it. 1K. I was pissed but can't do nothing about.

You can get the original hood for $200 on ebay.

or better yet a buddy with a 3d printer

I second this. Here's one I think would work at B&H for $7.95, or others even deeper, search for 67mm rubber lens hood on B&H's site.
