Panasonic Japan marks 10th anniversary since release of the DVX100

Years ago, I sold my GL-1 and got a DVX-100A. It turned my world upside down and I do not regret that move at all.

My admission - I didnt get a DVX until the A. I was shooting on an XL1 and met this guy in Tokyo who I subsequently hung out with a bit. He had a DVX, I saw the shots. Traded the XL1 for a DVX within a week of that then found DVXUser.

I have some footage from the DVX that I still love looking at.

I do love the DVX100 form factor, and of course the mojo. I shot with my DVX100 (first gen non-A/B) until it didn't work no more, about 4 years of use. Then it was the HVX200 days. I couldn't afford P2 so I defected to the Canon XHA1, which at the time was kinda like the HDV equivalent of the DVX. Good times. Now I've got an AC-130. I like it but not as much as the smaller DVX100. It was so perfect in size, looking pro but still light and nicely balanced for hand held operation.

I wonder if Panasonic would ever make a DVX camera body with a m4/3 chip and mount on front? Like literally the DVX100 body, but revamped for the high-def shallow DoF age (sorta like the Digital Bolex idea, old classic chassis with new high tech guts inside). I think I'd buy one. That would be perfect, but maybe too much for nostalgia's sake. Now you've all got me looking at the AF100 again to see if it might be worth picking up a used one sometime in the near future for some DVX style form factor.
