Panasonic HPX170 w/ 35mm Adapter, Rails, Follow Focus, Matte Box, Marshall 7" Screen

Sample Footage links are at the bottom! Take a look at it to see what this system is really capable of. I shot the footage myself on this EXACT camera system.

This is an awesome system for filmmaking or any type of video work. The camera is a great HD camera that records to P2 card digital media with 4:2:2 color space (That's way better than you'll get with a DSLR or other camera at this level), great for stylized color correction for films or just getting a clean, consistent image for other videos. The camera records uncompressed 4 channel audio through 2 full sized XLR inputs. (Another thing you won't find on a DSLR.) The camera has a built-in image flip for use with the 35mm Adapter. It costs about $3400 new. Included are also a 16GB and 32GB P2 card, valued at $370 and $470 new respectively.

The camera comes with a Pelican 1510 Rolling case (About $150 new), which is conveniently small enough to be a carry on but large enough to fit the camera and it's necessary components. (Batteries, P2 Cards, Charger, Remote, Manuals, Cables, etc.) This case is considered to be the best case money can buy for your equipment. It's nearly impossible to break, it's waterproof, and it floats in water. You could drop this out of a helicopter into an ocean and the camera would be ok when you got it out. However, I've never tried this with my camera and I don't recommend you do it if you buy it.

The Brevis 35mm Lens adapter (over $700 new) allows you to use Canon FD lenses, all of which are great quality and for sale EXTREMELY cheaply on eBay and other places. Using this gives you the film style depth of field you see in major movies and in recent DSLR filmmaking. You can buy and interchange as many lenses as you wish with this system, more lens adapters are available for the adapter to mount Nikon, Canon EOS, etc lenses on it. The adapter has an electronic film grain simulation plate which causes the image to look like it was filmed on film instead of like overly sharp nasty video cameras. It comes with the original charger and runs for days without needing re-charging. Also includes the rails system mount valued at $70.

The Marshall 7" HDSDI Monitor is an incredible accessory that is currently valued at $1009 new and includes the original AC Adapter, plus battery mount that runs off the same batteries as the camera does! (7 Batteries/2 Chargers Included with the package, for use with both the camera and the monitor!) The monitor is HD resolution and has many high level features such a focus assist, exposure assist, freeze frame, aspect ratio cropping, color tint control, brightness control, Contrast, etc. It connects to the camera via HD-SDI cable, which is an extremely high quality and reliable, locking connection. (Higher quality than HDMI, more secure connections) You will not regret having this monitor on set or in the editing suite. Great for pulling focus accurately or for directors or producers to watch while filming.

Also included is an "indiSYSTEM" brand shoulder mount/ tripod rails system with a full swing-away matte box and follow focus. All of these together are valued at over $900. This helps support the lens adapter and lens that are attached to the front of the camera and gives a rigid frame to attach accessories like the matte box and follow focus. The shoulder mount includes a soft shoulder pad and two padded handles that attach to the rails system for shoulder mount filming. The follow focus is great for precise focus control while shooting especially if a camera assistant is pulling focus, and the matte box is great for using filters and blocking unwanted light from hitting the lens.

A final accessory is the Varizoom Rocking Zoom/Focus/Iris Tripod Remote Control. It plugs into the remote connector on the back of the camera and attaches to your tripod handle. It allows you to control zoom, focus, iris, and record start/stop from the handle of the tripod. Especially useful for event shooting like weddings or performances. Valued at about $250 dollars new.

Here is my personal cinematography reel, all clips are shot on this exact camera and adapter rig using film lenses and all the included accessories above: http://vimeo.com/14442965

And here is another test video that I shot using this exact same camera and lens rig that is for sale on this page: http://vimeo.com/20271919
As you can see the Lens Adapter and color space of this camera make for beautiful images and allow you to incorporate lens flare styles into your work.

I have shot a small number of award winning films, music videos, corporate video, commercials, and experimental project on this rig. It has never let me down and it will treat whoever buys it well. I have been accepted to NYU film school for the fall so I will not be needing it and have decided to sell it to someone who can use it instead of leaving it to sit at home for 4 years. I'll miss it but I know someone else will enjoy it as much as I have.

I have done my best to explain the details and advantages of this package as simply and thoroughly as possible. I encourage you to do your own independent research to back up what I have stated or to ask me any questions you have.

Asking $7000 for the entire package plus shipping of your choice. Will take payment via PayPal.
Would love to sell it here to a true filmmaker instead of having to sell somewhere else. If other payment method is desired, simply ask and I'll see if we can work it out.

Feel free to email me with any questions or offers at field11studios@yahoo.com or message me here. Can send pictures of equipment if desired. Everything is is great condition.
