yes, because thats exactly what it is. Now, the Sony F950...thats not a camcorder...because the recording is seperate of the camera.

Varicam has a better color matrix. But I'm partial to Sony's HD system...course its what I learned on so I know it much more in depth then Panasonic....

Yes, it isn't a new camcorder. The new camcorder comming in 03/2005 is a AJ-HDX400E (Pal) 1080/25p/50i (1080/24p/60i ntsc?).

Hayden_Rivers,

Panasonic's CineGamma is only a software in the AJ-HDX400E.
The AJ-SPX800 P2 has Gamma curve for News.
