GH3 Panasonic GH3 lense slackness (about 0.5mm)

It's a very cool camera! I just bought it. However, I've noticed that there is some small slackness (about 0.5mm) in the my kit 14-140 lens. It has no impact on image quality or focus accuracy, there is just that very small frame shift. It's that ok?

Mine has it too. Not crazy about this. No effect on pic quality but makes me question build quality... Hmmmm.

I think it's because body built in China and lens in Japan. There is a way to fix it? Or don't have to worry about it, just forget about it?

There is a new slightly faster ( 1/3 f-stop ) Lumix 14-140mm lens coming out very soon, so this might be a non-issue with the new lens.

It's a lens mount issue - not a lens one. I see this little play with the Voightlander 25mm on the GH3 but didn't see this on the AF100 with the same lens.

So, should I change the camera? Maybe in Panasonic center they can fix it? Or leave the camera and just didn't think about it? How do you think?

Some have it, some don't. Had it on GH1, have it on GH2, don't care about it too much, though it may be an issue for some. If it is for you, you may wanna try another model. As I said it's not a dealbreaker for me, but yeah, makes you wonder about Pannys QA.

I have it too. Considering getting it serviced, but its a non-issue for me. just feel it when i shake the camera.

I have the Voigtlander 17.5mm and the SLR Magic 12mm primes for my GH3. The Voigtlander has very little play in the mount. The SLR Magic has quite a bit of play, but most of the play is between the lens and the lens mount on the lens, not the camera mount. The SLR Magic lens has some serious QC issues though with regards to dirty internal glass.

I think it can be both a lens-side or camera-side issue. I have adapters and lenses that wobble to varying degrees on different cameras.

There are some little sprung tabs behind the camera's lens mount flanges. Maybe tweaking these a little might help tighten the lens-body interface.
