Panasonic GH2 vs. Canon 5D2 shutter roll comparison

howso? clearly the gh2 skews less.. look at the captured frames at the end of the video.
 
put your guns down gentlemen, I think they are both pretty bad at extreme panning speeds, to me looks pretty much identical....
 
forgot to add, whoever doesn't like their 5D and/or GH2 anymore after viewing this, I will gladly accept donations, will pay for shipping! :D
 
Ha ha....I just want my GH-2 to get here. If it wasn't for that rediculous (as in great) corporate discount I would have shopped anywhere other than Panasonic Direct. Oh well. They are all just tools. It's good to know thier strengths and weaknesses.

as for the skew, i just thought it looked a bit more than the 5d..
and i was mistaken.. GH2 wins ;)
(oh, wait till you see the 5D skew on 4K !)

Nope. Those knuckleheads told me that they expect a shipment of 400 cams next week and another bigger batch the following week. So...I probably won't have it until at least mid January.

Lol...5D skew on 4K...ha ha... Well...we have under 24 hrs to see if that's true or not.
 
Someday I'll get my hands on a 5D and run it through The Skewer, and that'll give us a definitive answer as to exactly how it compares... until then, on Mike's test, they look basically the same.
 
If the GH2 is about the same as the GH1 then yes, they are pretty much identical. Have a look at this:

I talked wtih the author quite a bit and his method for testing the skew is REALLY good. In fact, I have the files he used so that I can test my AF100 vs my 7D. The 7D has less rolling shutter than both the 5D and GH1. If you look in his comments also, he tested the Red One MX which is substantially faster.

Given the FoV wasn't EXACTLY the same between both, I agree that to me they pretty much looked the same.
