GH2 Panasonic GH2 Shooter’s Guide on sale

Thanks for the link. I bought the book yesterday and read it on my way to and home from an all day shoot (where I was using the GH2 and an AF101). There was enough useful and interesting content in it that kept my interest, but I felt it was padded out with way too much generic material. The chapter on editing, for example: I don't use (or wish to use) FCP or Premiere yet these are the only apps covered, but more importantly, it's not really a GH2 specific topic and is covered far more effectively in dedicated books. Similarly, I wasn't looking for education on Twixtor or Neat Video. And the chapter on how to write effective blogs, including a definition of what a troll is - not convinced of its relevance to the GH2! While I am sure some would find it useful, I'm not particularly interested in a comparison between Canon DSLRs and the GH2, the author's choice of 'classic' Russian lenses, how to calibrate a Mac display or which is the best home theatre projector. I had hoped for a comprehensive guide focussed exclusively on using the GH2 for video; what I got was a loose collection of articles of varying relevance. I don't mean to sound completely disingenuous about the book - as I said, there is enough decent material in it to make it worth the purchase - certainly for beginners or for people like me who use the GH2 as a second camera on some shoots and want to make sure they are getting the best from it. But overall, not particularly satisfying. As for some of the typos and very silly spelling and grammar mistakes, well I'm afraid that gets my hackles up straight away, so I might not have been in the best frame of mind to write a review ;-)
