Panasonic GH1 or Canon 550d/T2i

Hi guys,
I appreciate all the replies. I have done my research on various terminology in relation to cameras like "aliasing", "moire" and "banding", etc. However, and please excuse my nativity as I'm new to all this, but what exactly does "codec mud" mean? I've tried googling it and can't seem to find an explanation or an example. Would appreciated help, thanks.

The GH1 has a low bit rate (ie less data) so when the camera moves overly fast or there's a fast moving subject, there's artifacts and distortion in the video - you can probably find samples of it on youtube.

correct me if i'm wrong, but from what i've read your statement isn't true whatsoever. there are camera's out there with 17Mb bitrate and do fine under fast moving objects and high detail. it's the lack of b-frames that cause the codec to break up.
