Panasonic GF/GH parts supplier?

I hate to have to live post at one time, but figure one will die eventually.... but I just bought a used GF1 with some cosmetic issues. Price was really good, and all features work, bt there are a few nicks and scraps.

In this age of global shopping you can buy replacement bodies for cell phones and even swap out key pads from Euro only products with US market ones if you know where to look.

Has anyone come across a reseller of replacement parts for the Panasonic cameras, ie incase one gets dented or scratched, or is the lower volume market of cameras not profitable enough for such a venture.

Basically, could one rebody one of our cameras.....
 
id imagine it would be more trouble than its worth, plus you run the risk of doing more bad than good by opening it and swapping things into a newer body shell, i'm no expert so could be wrong.

i see scratches and dents as giving things more character and at least you don't have to worry about getting the 1st scratch on it :smile:
 
normally I would agree with you but having replaced Zf drives in iPods, replaced entire housing on a blackberry and built computers for the past few years personally I'm not to worried about any of that, however I could see how such an undertaking might scare of 99.9% of the folks out there, but if the parts are available to service centers there has to be a source available someplace.

The only thing I would be casutious of is how to handle the sensor itself, but that is a whole other matter.
