Panasonic G6 ISSUES - SENSOR F'ed???

Just got a G6 body used on Amazon - there were crazy flickering purple lines and bars when recording/shooting photos. I was like "Oh no it's defective and have to return it".
I did a pixel refresh and now it's fine.
Question is - is it REALLY fine. Is it "normal" for a pixel refresh to clear such a nutty problem and the camera actually be safe to keep and NOT return? I have never seen anything like this.

Just turned the camera off and a few hours later the lines reappeared but disappeared as soon as I took the lenscap off and now are gone again and I can't seem to bring them back...I guess it seems like it gets worse with non use ???? Anyone have any diagnosis?

I've never had that happen. I'd guess it is defective. Can you still return it?

BTW- I have a G6 for sale in the marketplace here which I can pretty much guarantee doesn't do that. Hint hint. :)

Yep amazon warehouse...also noticed a video file got interrupted and it just now when powered off, the green light stayed on and the camera wouldn't turn back on when I turned it on. More static and longer lasting the longer I don't use the camera. Just got done renting the GH3 as a replacement body and now I hate the G6...the GH3 is too close in price nowadays.

Hey now, don't hate the g6 just cuz you got a lemon. There are some amazing things it can do that the gh3 can't, including focus peaking, wifi remote monitor, and a cleaner image thanks to the repurposed moire free gh2 sensor (also uses the gh2 accessories like batteries). I love mine, only giving it up because I have 2 gh2s already and I'd like to sell this and use the money for glass.

GH3 is a great camera too, don't get me wrong. I decided on the g6 over the GH3 when I bought it because I actually liked it better.

Actually I already owned a G6 - this was my second body. I like the peaking and seeing a live stream on your cell phone but gh3 is just too close in price for a WAAAAAY better codec.
