Panasonic FZ2500 DCI 4k 10 bit 4:2:2 200Mbps log Leica lens all in one

The f-stop number is ratiometric; being the ratio of the focal length to the diameter of the iris. It relates the exposure of the image circle not the area of light.

Internal zoom, parfocal lens (or close enough approximation of one)...

I personally would have liked a 24-200 constant f/2.8 like the RX10 I and II, but hey, this works too. It seems pretty much like an HC-X1 in still camera body style minus XLR inputs, but for a little over a third of the price.

It all depends on low light, which won't be world class in either. I hope you are correct.

Don't forget the stepless iris and the dolly zoom.

My experience with 1" cameras tells me that to excite me the lens has to be fast and 20 megapixels or so on the sensor. This makes for a good result in the end. Sadly there's no 1" camera that's fast on the longer end of the lens, and I just find that to boring.

What are they referring to regarding dolly zoom as a camera feature?

And regarding zoom, they seem to be suggesting it's smooth. Maybe this will be usable during a video shot instead of as solely a framing control?
I see a remote jack..but maybe that's simply start/stop.

dolly zoom is when the subject remains constant size while the background zooms

The review of the G85/80/81 was shot on a prototype FZ2500/2000. Lots of footage followed by a mini review of the FZ2500. Unfortunately the prototype FZ2500 displays the same poor facial skin rendering that doomed the DVX200 when the first footage appeared despite its great specs on paper. Chalky skin rendering with occasional color banding.
