The camera shows some minimal signs of use, such as pilled paint on the corner and some barely visible scratches on the plastic enclosure.
There are 2 barely visible scratches on the LCD display, you can only see them from certain angle, I couldn't even get it captured on the photos.
All the issues above are cosmetic only and don't affect the image quality or the camera's performance.
The camera was ALWAYS used with the same type of cassettes recommended by the manufacturer. It is important for keeping the head lubricants consistent and making the head life longer.
optical condition
The lens is in excellent condition, 100% free of scratches, fungus, finger marks and other defects. The camera was never used without a lens protection filter.
The important filters (UV and Polarizer) are 100% free of scratches, fungus, finger marks and other defects.
The lens protector filter has a couple of barely visible scratches, that don't affect the image and can only be seen from certain angle.
batteries condition
The batteries we include are in used condition. These are cheaper 3rd party batteries. One of them works with camera and another one has a pin bended, so it works with the light but not with the camera. Although the batteries are in working condition and can easily handle 3-4 tapes, we hardly recommend that you buy the new batteries. This type only costs 20 bucks here on eBay.
electronic condition
All controls work perfectly on both the camera and the remote
This camera has a working Firewire port, so you can transfer the footage directly to computer, without using a deck. This circuit on DVX series is subject to be burned out very easily and costs $200-300 to replace, so many DVX100's on eBay are sold with this port not working.
We always used same type of professional Panasonic cassettes (2 boxes included) to avoid the head lubricant issues.
The camera currently reads 382 honest hours. We say "honest" because we never removed the backup battery that can reset the hours counter. With the known “life expectancy of record heads over 2,000 hours” we consider this camera in it's teen ages now. Most hours were spent in a home standby time, so the head was not actually working during all these hours.
usage history
This camera was purchased for family use only. It never faced bad weather, smoky parties, sandy beach, or other abuse of professional work pressure. Most of the time it was used mostly in one smoke-free household, sometimes outside
When the UV filter was unnecessary, it always had a clear glass filter on the lens.
