Panasonic BS1H announce new camera.

I think more screens are generally better. But I never look at the camera LCD on either of my gimbals except to change menu settings. Always the external monitor or smartphone monitor. I just hold the camera at too much of a distance or an angle for it to be that useful. And if he's talking about a car rig or a two-handed underslung gimbal, then probably even moreso.

I love AF on gimbal but if he's using cine lenses then it's moot

The only camera I've heard give people real heartburn to balance on gimbal was the Pockets on account of their width. But maybe he's referring to lens changes. If the camera's center of gravity is not in line with the lens mount, then when you slide your camera backward and forward to balance a different lens, you'll always have to adjust side to side, and possibly vertically as well.

Btw Sheldon do you post on newsshooter or eoshd? I feel like I've your screen name elsewhere

Really? I thought adapting EF only harmed the autofocus. which isn't great on Panasonic to begin with

I heard the performance is pretty slow for even stills AF. OS likely works well and I beleive the other communication works well. I agree few use the continuous AF on Panasonic so it may not matter all that much but some do and it is getting better. 60p for example is getting a lot better.

Yeah, the Sigma MC-21 EF to L-mount adapter does not support continuous autofocus (AF-C mode) at all, even if using Sigma lenses. And even the single shot (AF-S) autofocus can be a bit sluggish depending on the lens. Overall the performance of the EF to L-mount adapters seems to be worse than the EF to Micro 4/3 adapters (such as the Metabones ones) for some reason. And much worse than the EF to E-mount adapters (such as Sigma's MC-11).

But if you are committing to manual focus anyway, the adapter does allow for aperture control through the camera which is pretty important as most EF lenses have electronically controlled aperture.
