Panasonic announces FZ47 - Manual control in video mode included

"Differentiating itself from most digital cameras that record video, the LUMIX FZ47 is unique in that it features a Creative Video mode, which lets the user set the shutter speed and aperture manually. Changing the shutter speed brings special effects to videos, which is especially suitable for shooting a fast-moving subject. The ability to control the aperture is convenient when there are several subjects at different distances and it is desired to have each of them stand out." (italics added)

The dpreview specs list it as having "Power O.I.S lens-shift stabilization"- any guess as to how this compares to the Sony Hx9 "Optical SteadyShot with Active Mode"? What a mammoth zoom range.

I read this about the new Panasonic's image stabilization. When shooting video, the camera also has an "Active Image Stabilization" mode that compensates for a greater range of hand shake.

This is more the type on off camera I would like to uses what the HX100 lacks this camera has and what this camera lacks the HX100 has LOLOLOL .

My wish list to have in the camera would be :
AVCHD: 1920 x 1080 pixels, 50p at 28mbps
Sensor output is 50p
Live Hdmi output

But other than that looks very promicing.

Just like when we started the posts on the HX9 when it was first announced, we were just mindful of its forthcoming release. It could be great....it could be a stinker. I can tell you this....the FZ35 had THE BEST image stabilization of ANY camera I have EVER WITNESSED in my life. Zooming with that camera WAS FUN. (I no longer have it, I sold it to my brother). The followup cam (FZ100) was said to be a "step backwards". (I can't validate this, but that is the general report on that cam). So...you never know what you're going to get. I hope it has the same heritage/outcome with some improvements. We'll see though...like I said, you never know. :)

Interesting it makes boast of its audio :

"The full-HD video capability is complemented with the high-quality stereo sound of Dolby® Digital Stereo Creator, to offer extremely realistic audio. And with a Wind Cut function, the LUMIX FZ47 reduces noise from background wind automatically. "

Of course, probably no inputs or level control.

i have been long time not here, my DVX100 times are a long ago, but i always loved this forum for its competence in almost all regards, its still my number one source for camera and cam sound inforamtion.
I am glad i found a thread for this camera here, as its one of the most interessting ones out there for my multirotor purpose.
I spend all time over on rcgroups multirotor secition, i am a builder of a multiwii/megapirate flight controller, can be seen on rcgorups under multirotor, or google Flyduino.
My goal is of course to have a good cam hanging below the multicopter, for me it will be still a long way as i am a may good technician but still no good pilot and have hardly any time fly and pratice, damm.
Most use a Gopro, which is easy to handle and works quite nice, doing a overall good picutre, or lets say the automatics works often ok.
Then the canon fraction, of course the biggest, but i dislike the mirror and dont see the need for such a big chip in wideangle.
I think i have waited a long time for a DMC-FZ47, as i know the GH2 a bit, panasonic is a company which can do good video cams.
Also CCD is good less wobble, which can be a problem on a multicopter.
So what you think, are they other options, or you agree here?
May the inhouse FZ100 is better, it seems she does real 50p / 60p sensorwise not only 25 but lacking the image stabilizer?

The just announced Panasonic FZ150 superzoom does seem to be a direct competitor with the Sony HX100V, and to a certain extent the HX9V. Full specs available on the Panasonic UK website. Yes, full HD 50p (60p in North America) at 28Mbps, tilt LCD panel, but also aperture and shutter speed control too. No instruction manual available yet but I would guess sharpness, contrast, saturation and NR adjustable in video which I understand has been the case with some other Panasonic consumer models (LX5). Maybe the 'nanosurface lens coating' will remove some of the image quality flaws in sunlight which appeared in some previous Panasonic cameras. Active Mode stabilisation, 28mm wide angle and, possibly giving a crucial image quality advantage over the Sony 16mp sensor in low light, a 12mp sensor. But of course yet to see any footage examples. I look forward to seeing some video from this camera.

Anyone have the FZ150 yet? I have a HX9V and was thinking of getting the HX100V, but the FZ150 has many more features (manual control, mic input, AVCHD or MP4 recording, filter threads).

Does anyone use this camera ? Really cheap, and am keen on using it with a Nina Star as a CCD sensor with lossless 1080p. Is there a clean HDMI output ? Anyone ?
