Panasonic and september -.-

just wondering. on the panansonic website when you look at the gh1 they say that it is back ordered until september which is getting really lame. but is this like an estimate or are they going to hold back their gh1s till september because im hoping to get one buy mid or late august. september is when school starts and i want to have the most time i can get in messing around with the camera. and i also want to take it on my camping trip with my church woohoo. but to do that IT NEEDS TO BE IN STOCK.
 
I don't think they will be "holding back". More likely is that they already have orders that will take them until September to fill, so any new orders won't be filled until after then. There might be some good news in that probably a large number of those orders could be to resellers. You might check various reseller sites to see if there is one that expects their shipment soon.
 
This camera is harder to find in stock than the HVX200 was when it debuted... Man.. that's saying something. I've been scouring for weeks...
 
Hey, I have two for sale right now. These are from the B&H shipment two weeks ago.
