Hi,
I read many posts regarding the switching of tapes. There seemed to be confusion regarding the difference between Panasonic AMQ and PQ tapes. So I called EVS. Here's what I was told:
1. They are exactly the same tape. They both come from the same huge spool.
2. The AMQ comes from the center of the spool, so it is less "stretched." As a result, it is thicker and more dense, a higher grade and more archival.
Therefore, unless you are archiving, the PQ are definitely a better deal and YOU CAN SWAP BETWEEN THEM WITH NO PROBLEMS.
Any thoughts, rebuttals? :kali:
