Panasonic AG-UX90 vs Sony PXW-X70

Hi guys,

I've been a member of DVXUSER ever since I had my DVX100a many years ago, but haven't really feel the need to post anything since most of the questions I've ever had were already answered, but now more than ever I need advice.

I've grown old and tired and no longer feel the need to be carrying my DSLR with a bunch of lenses and an external audio recorder everywhere I go, I want to go back to basics, a single camcorder with a good optical zoom and internal audio recording.

I have been looking into three cameras; the Canon XA30 (only HD), the Panasonic UX90 and the Sony X70 (which needs a paid upgrade for 4K and is the oldest of the bunch), the competition is mostly between the Sony and Panasonic, I really like the Canon and I would probably get that if only there where a 4K version (I know of the XA40 but it won't be available in my country until January and I don't want to wait so much), I haven't been able to find a direct comparison between both cameras, I only found a comparison between the UX90 and the Sony NX100, in this comparison the Panasonic is clearly better, but unlike the Sony X70 the NX100 is only 4:2:0 8bit same as the Panasonic but the X70 has internal 4:2:2 10bit (which I've grown accustom because of the BMCC) I do enjoy color correction and hope to still do it with whatever camera I end up getting.

So, what do you guys think? which is the best buy? Please help.

Many thanks in advance,
Mike

Also check out the new batch of cameras that were just announced a few days ago:

Canon G40, XF400/405

Sony AX700, NX80, Z90V

You might see something you like as they are more feature-rich than the previous generations.

I realize that there are newer better versions of the Canon and Sony camcorders that I'm looking into, the problem is that in the country that I'm in new tech takes way to long to arrive, and this are the cameras that are available here at the moment, It's not like I'm in a hurry to buy but I would like to make the purchase ASAP, thanks for the advice though I will look into the newer versions as well, maybe it would be best to wait.
