Panasonic AG-HPX370 Info

I am looking at getting a pair of these Panasonic cameras for work. I work with a production company that provides video for corporate meetings and conferences. We occasionally need to film some content but the majority is live shots. I have rented a pair of these cameras for a few events and they have worked well for us but I am open to suggestions on others that would work for us.

Regarding the HPX370 I would like to upgrade the lens on one of them to get a tighter shot. I need to get a head shot from around 80 to 100 feet. What would be the best option for this?

Also, what kind of tripod handle controls for zoom and focus are available for this camera? I haven't been able to find much about this online. I have just seen the remote kit.

Thanks for the help.

Best way to get a longer lens is to get a MTF 1/3" to 2/3" adaptor as this will open up the choice to numerous 2/3" lenses with 2x extenders.

As for zoom remotes there is the fujinon one (I think adorama have some on offer at the moment) or the libec pan handle or clamp on variety (which I have) as well as others. Focus depends on the lens for servo control but I have a mechanical fujinon one for my std lens which bolts onto the lens, I also have a follow focus unit that works manually.

You might take a look at this Fujinon lens... HTs18x4.2BERM. It really makes the stock lens LOOK like the xxxx it is. And it should, because it costs more than the camera. Great MOD and 2X extender. You'll never had to worry about shooting wide with this lens.

Good Luck!

Yes the MTF adaptor will limit the wide end but that is not what the original poster wanted but it is a cost effective way of getting longer lenses with extenders.

Wide angle lenses for the 1/3" chip cameras are very limited and costly so an add on adaptor to the front is probably the best option if you need something wider than the stock lens.

Not sure if the 250 will able to support external zoom and focus controls tho?

The 250 will unquestionably support external zoom and focus controls. It will use the same protocol as the AF100, HPX170, HMC150, DVX100 series, or I'll eat my hat.
