Hi,

i have a budget of 5000 USD. I don't know what i should exactly buy to shoot music videos and short films.

I cam to these models.

It would be great you you could help me to choose one of them. Of course you could tell me another model too.

Thank you

Hi, thank you for the great link.

I found it out that:

HMC151 has only a 4:3 Display and is older
The AX200 can not record 24p and is a new model

It would be so nice to compare some footage :(

The 4:3 display is actually kind of nice... it letterboxes the shot, and sticks some of the display info in the black bars, leaving more of the shot obscured. As to the age... it's only a year and a half old, so it's not that old.

Hi Guys, intresting :)

OMG: Somebody wrote in this forum: Why to spend a lot of money for a HMC150 + 35mm Adapter!! With a canon 7d it's possible only to insert a 50mm adapter for example and you can reach very nice quality and 35mm look!!

I have seen some footages on youtube and its amazing.

Now the big question: canon 7d or hmc150???

Two completely different animals.

With the 7d, you loose a lot of the features of the HMC. No XLRs, no waveform monitor, shorter record times. Remember, the 7d is a *STILL* photography camera that just happens to shoot video. The are a few people in the 35mm adapter forum will shoot the adapter route over the 7d for a lot of those reasons. That said, it does shoot some nice footage.

A good question is how important shallow depth of field is to you. I was all gun ho to buy an adaptor for my HMC until I realized for the bulk of what I shoot, I just don't need it.

For me, the hassle of dealing with all the work arounds for the 7D just isn't worth it. But that's me and I can only speak to me. Everyone is different. There are plenty of threads on this board along this topic. It's not really a cut and dry answer of either/or.

Or... save some more money and wait 'til December when Panasonic releases the AF100, then you should get the best of both worlds. :)

Yes, I am eagerly awaiting the AF100. Love the HMC150, but the AF100 just seems to have all the features I'm looking for.

Hi everybody..

i came to following conclusion. what you think.

I think it's important to scope what on really need.

I need:

- 24p
- shutter speed manual
- 1080p
- A cam for music videos
- A cam for Short film
- Close up shoots with nice DOF Effect

I think that a Canon 7d cover all my wishes for a great price around 2000 usd. I could then with 2000 usd by a second lens and maybe a stabilisator and a follow focus.
The Canon 7d has none XLR. I think this is only the problem i will have if i want to shot a short film.

Please tell me what you think.
