Can the P2 store be used a card reader? (in place of the new single slot reader from Panny?)

Yes.

I was surprised to see a footnote on the B&H page you linked to that this Firestore is not supported on Intel Macs. Is there a work-around for this?

Thanks,
Kevin

Yes.

Thanks Barry,

Good question, to which I don't know the answer. I always used it with a non-Intel Mac and it worked great there.

I did just get a new MacBook Pro though, and just plugged it in with a p2 card in it. The No Name card drive popped up immediately, and I could see the contents of the card, so it seems to work.

Anyone else know anything about this?

Ben

it works perfectly with intel macs. it is so much smarter than the new p2 slot reader if you get it at a decent price. it was initially $1800, which is why it wasn't so popular. I just bought three brand new in sealed boxes with the porta brace cases. They hold 3 16 gig cards for field offload and work as a card reader via usb and has battery power same as hvx/hpx/dvx.... i love mine overall....
