GH3 Panasonic 35-100 focus ring scrapes

This is a somewhat, nitpicky observation, but considering it's one of (if not the) most expensive m43 lenses, I do expect it to function as good as any lens in the system. Specifically, the focus ring, is, smooth..But there is a sense it is somewhat scraping against something internally. Definitely doesn't feel like something got stuck in there as this is how the lens has behaved since I got it a few months ago. I think I tried to overlook it. But comparing it to my Panasonic 25mm, which has just, buttery smooth focusing, I can't help but think, "Shouldn't my 35-100 feel just as good?" So, I also have a warranty for the lens so I may as well take full advantage of the services I've paid for, but also just wanted to check with others if their 35-100 is as smooth as one could imagine, or if they also experience the slight scraping from the focus ring. Please let me know!

Yes I'd look into it, even the likes of Nikon and canon have these occasional issues. I'd want it taken care of.

One of my lenses I bought new had the same problem, but sending it back and waiting when I shoot weekly is honestly not an option right now. If you have the time send it in, if not just live with it and keep shooting.

My 35-100mm feels very smooth to the touch, but if I put my ear up to it while I turn the focusing ring it makes a faint scraping sound. I am not worried about this, as the focusing ring feels very smooth to the touch.

Hm. If that's the case then I suppose it's just how the lens might be. Will still look into it. Got it through Samys but the insurance is AMTrust I believe. Will update here if I get a replacement that feels better.
