Panasonic 20mm 1.7 won't auto focus

I just did the lens firmware update and now when I attach the 20mm the screen shows mf only. I'm kind of at a loss...
 
The 20mm lens is super slow. It will hunt for focus. I would not use continuos focus on this lens anyway. You can push once for focus assist and then MF is your best bet anyway. The 14-140 handles CAF pretty good.
 
Autofocus is disabled if you turn on VFR mode, or 1080/24PsF output. If you turned either of those on, try turning them back off and see if it works.
 
if you go to panny page on AF100 lens compatibility you will find out this one does not work in AFC.
 
yup never worked in AFC, also on the GH1. It also hunts around focus and gets stuck many times! I wish it had a nicer MF, at least a shorter way from infinite to macro. I still like it though.
