Panasonic 0.8X Wide Angle? Good or Bad?

I am looking to buy a wide angle for the dvx. I am on a very limited budget and was wondering if the Panasonic 0.8X wide angle (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/282864-REG/Panasonic_AG_LW7208G_0_8x_Wide_Angle_Converter.html) is a fairly good lens. I was also looking at the 16x9 Inc. lens (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...V7X1_HDV7X1_0_7_Wide_Angle.html#goto_itemInfo) to but I would rather not spend the extra $100. Which is better and if it is the 16x9, how much better?

Another question is, I have heard that you are not supposed to place filters in between a wide angle lens and the camera. Is this true? If so, does the Panasonic lens have threads on the front and what size are they?

Thanks.

vzmotoxer807,

I have the .8 wide angle. I love it. I shoot a documentary style. Lots of interviews in tight spaces. That being said, the space surrounding the person being interviewed is really important: Example - A cook in a kitchen. It's one thing to interview the chef (head and shoulders). It's another thing to bring the hanging pots and pans into the picture.

Thanks, thats all I needed to hear. I understand that the 16x9 inc. lens will give me a wider shot but this does not concern me that much. The panasonic .8 will be way better than the stock for small indoor stuff. And hearing that you think the panasonic is good quality makes me not want to spend the extra $100.

Now what about the other question from my last post about using filters and wide angles? Anyone?
