PAN AM to fly again

It has more going on than I thought it would.
After NBC killed the Playboy Club, which I thought was pretty good, I gave Pan Am a good look and it's not bad TV.
I like the spy thing the most.

The pilot was far better than any subsequent episode so far.

Is it me, or does Michael Mosley seem like he has a bladder about to explode in every shot?

Agree.

I think they may have taken that from the fact that for some 20 years Juan Trippe (CEO of Pan Am. Alec Baldwin plays him in the Aviator), reluctantly worked for the CIA. It's a great cover when you think about it. Travel the world, meet dignified and important people, not likely to be detained for numerous reasons.

Pan Am was founded by two Army Air Corps generals to counter German interests in the Americas, so Trippe was just doing his bit.

ABC is considering killing the show. They've made no official decision yet, that I'm aware.

It's dead, Jim.

After a good pilot, very authentic production design, and a good performance from Ricci, the film seemed to lack good writing, and producers that didn't really know what the 60s Jet-set age was really like. ABC did not renew it.

What I see from this thread is that if you want something to air and stick around these days, then HBO might be the way to go.

I thought Pan Am was an interesting nostalgic take on that time period. Too bad ABC didn't give it a chance. I believe all episodes were aired, at least 13 for sure.
