Pal vs NTSC - 20% difference on P2

I note on the Panasonic site re P2 cards:

The new 8gig cards record 20 minutes at 720/24p (NTSC)
but only 16 minutes at 720/25p (PAL)

I can see why there would be a 4% storage difference, but 20%...

Can anyone explain? Are Pal users getting more information recorded in each frame?

Well apperently so is the "PAL" version 50 fps with 100mbs, and then 25 fps would be half 50mbs.

What i heard but I havn´t got it confirmed is that the PAL version has i higher res. That would explain were they put the extra 20% of storage.

Yes the pal version has a slightly higher luma grid. Not a big deal with image quality but certainly for storage.

NTSC is 720x480 and PAL is 720x576, mabie that's why
but I do not know how it is in HD ?
