I understand that the DVX (PAL) dose not have 24p format instead it has 25p, are you guys having same result (film look) as the 24p?
How did you overcome this issue ?

Hi,

Yes, the DVX (PAL version) records in both 25progressive & 50 interlaced & yes, the 25p frame rate looks just as filmic as 24p.

Which country do you reside in btw?

I'm from Qatar , I been advised by http://www.expandore.com that AG-DVX100BE is the correct model for my region.
Dose PAL users deprived from 24p format, what is the equivalent alternative?

Let me put it this way:
If we displayed side by side 24p and 25p in HD monitor, well the video quality is the same for both?

no need to worry about filmic quality of pal 25p, in fact you get a slightly better image in pal which has more resolution than 24p ntsc

I feel the more I swim towards the canon HX-A1, DVX100's waves take me bake to shore :embarasse

yes thats a common dilemma - i think if you are doing narrative work & have access to lights then the cannon is definitely the way to go - but if you're doing documentary work where you are running around in uncontrollable environments using only available light then the dvx may suit you better, i know it does me, i've never been asked to produce in hd yet. This may well change but for the forseeable future dvx sd is easily good enough, & in low light easier to work with than the A1. i found this out the hard way, using a friends A1 in very poor light & wishing i had my dvx for light sensitivity & also ease of focus. All depends on what you need it for i guess because in the right conditions the A1 produces stunning images. As you see it's still a dilemma....
