would anyone advise that any flickering effect if i use PAL GH1 to shoot at NTSC country which can not be resolved by shutter speed?

i am a PAL user and will have a trip to Japan, will shoot at indoor area also. I dont want heavy flickering effect at my video clips. to eliminated the problem, i understand that simply convert to NTSC by ptools. But tThe most frustrated is i satisfied in patched AVCHD setting in PAL system but unstable in NTSC (card write error), and fluency slow motion from 50p to 25p compare to 59.94 to 23.97. ( i use vegas, seeking advise any other software better that that, thx in advance).

i will be appreciated if anyone show me PAL camera shoot at NTSC country (60hz lighting) footage for sample.

Even though Japan has NTSC as the TV standard, they utilize different electricity standards in different regions of the country. Some regions like Tokyo use 50hz, while the others 60hz. So shooting in Tokyo with a PAL camera will cause no flickering problems at all.

how about at 60hz region? is it a major problem that can not be eliminated by shutter speed adjustment?

thanks in advance!

Yes you can fix that by adjusting the shutter speed.

Thanks zigizigi, then i settled down in PAL system with AVCDH patch.

i found PAL native 25p and AVCHD patch more stable than NTSC under the same hardware configure. if 50hz - 60hz not a major issue. why guys insist to use NTSC?
25p to 24p is also easy to achieve? right?

I believe the most common way of doing this is simply to drop the footage in to a 24p timeline, which slows the footage by ~4%. For a start this isn't ideal, but also your audio will be out of sync. There are ways around this but they involve loss of quality and/or skewed pitch.
