PAL slow-motion 50p to 25p

After finally updating Premiere Pro for AVCHD compatibility I tried to run my first slow-motion test with the GH1.

But I seem to have problems with the workflow yet. Is it the same as converting NTSC 60p footage to 24p, just at 50/25?

Here's what I did:
Shot some test footage in 720p AVCHD mode at 1/100 shutter. Opened a new 25p project in Premiere. Imported the clips and put them in the timeline. No slow-motion. Do I have to set the speed to 50%? Tried it, but apparently it's no real slow-motion then of course. Am I just missing something or doesn't it work properly?

EDIT: Got it. For anyone also working with Premiere: Right-click the clip, check properties. It should show 50 fps. Right-click again, select "Interpret footage" (could be named differently as I'm translating from my German Premiere). In the pop-up window, select "Different framerate" and type in 25 fps. Then put the clip in the timeline and it should play in slow-motion. Clip properties still show 50 fps though. But it works, so this should be the deal.

Same works in AE. Interpret the footage as 25 instead of the native 50fps.

Im a FCP person, but its nothing like 60 to 24. You shouldnt have to interpret? Just drop the 50p straight on 25p timeline reduce speed to 50% - not sure how premiere works anymore, but make sure it does not have any frame blending turned on.

but when i simply drop a 50 fps in 25 timeline in FCP and change the speed of the clip to 50%, it doesn't seem to work, it's not a smooth slow motion, it seems that 1 frame is doubled every 2 frames,
does someone know the way of doing a correct slow motion insideFCP only?

in vegas i just do the math, if it's a 10 second clip shot at 60 i pull it out to 25 seconds on the time line, and i might be doing it wrong but it looks smooth to me, the only difference i'd think would be the math is easier in the pal version!
