PAL question for Avid guys!

Brandon Rice

Hey everyone!

I am in need of some assistance.

Here's the situation:

I shot a film last summer on the DVX-100, I shot 24Pa, and I've been editing in a 24P project in Avid. Now, I need to make a PAL DVD for the post house to make a DLT to send to the distributor. So, the question is, how do I go from my 24P project to a PAL project, and render everything out (including special features, etc.)

Thanks!

Try this:

export final picture as QT ref. Create a PAL 25p project. Enter "ignoreqtrate true" into the console. Import QT.

Audio needs to be speed up 4.1% to be in sync. Adjust using AudioSuite. Export as WAV, import into PAL 25p project and sync to QT import. If all is well, then export as needed for MPEG2 compression.

This method worked! I have the PAL DVD finished... strange it still plays on my NTSC TV though... hm. I used a PAL workflow throughout though, even in Adobe Encore.
